Santa Clara, CA., October 3rd, 2019 – Flexiv, a global leading robotics and AI company, attends the leading
robotics event RoboBusiness 2019 to share industrial insights and present adaptive robots to the U.S. market.
The two-and-a-half-day conference attracts researchers, developers, investors and companies from all around the world to exchange cutting-edge technological insights and research findings in the robotics industry. During the event, Flexiv showcased the first adaptive robot Rizon and its applications to the US audience, and drew a lot of attention from different sectors of robotics-related industries.
Jingfan Wang, lead of Business Development of US from Flexiv gave a speech named “Adaptive Robots: A New Generation of Robot Arms”, outlining the status quo of the robotics industry and the key traits of adaptive robots.
He mentioned that although the existing technology could achieve a certain level of automation, in many cases, manual work was still required, which posed a challenge to production quality and labor management.
“Next-generation robotics automation should make breakthroughs from three perspectives: dexterity, intelligence and flexibility”, said Wang. He then explained the definition of adaptivity as well as the value of adaptive robots for the audience, and officially introduced the world's first adaptive robot Flexiv Rizon to the U.S. market.
“Rizon is the world’s first adaptive robotic arm that combines direct force control with advanced AI. With improved dexterity, intelligence and flexibility, it is able to perform tasks which requires fine ‘hand-eye’ coordination in uncertain working environments.”
Wang holds master's degrees from the University of California at Berkeley and Stanford University and several patents. He has published more than ten papers in artificial intelligence.
At the end of the speech, he used a video to show the audience Rizon’s high-flexibility applications, including plugging, polishing, assembling, etc. All the complex operations in modern manufacturing industry are perfectly fulfilled by Rizon with its human-like manipulation capability and intelligence.
With Rizon’s new design combining direct force control with advanced AI, Flexiv will provide smarter-than-ever adaptive robotic solutions to empower companies in a variety of industries including automotive, electronics, healthcare and logistics, paving the way for future robot automation.
